What is Narcosis Management? ?
PSAI Narcosis Management is our signature course. This training, the best in the world, has you perform only the underwater skills that relate to the actual real world of diving. You will be required to keep up with Depth, Air, Time and Awareness (DATA). You must become comfortable and competent with the mental and motor skills at each training depth before training down to the next level. PSAI is the only agency offering Narcosis Management training down to 240 feet (73 meters) It is taught in six different depth levels, allowing your choice of training depth. As of February 15, 2006 Hal Watts has taken 55 people on dives between 91 – 127 meters (300 and 415 feet) with zero accidents. This Narcosis Management course is taught on air, to better prepare divers for Trimix diving which requires the use of the less forgiving helium based gases. Good buoyancy control, gas management, gas switches and runtimes are best learned while diving on air.
What does this certification give you?
This course is taught in six levels. The bottom mix for each level is air. Narcosis Management is the objective measured in terms of keeping track of Depth, Air, Time and Awareness (DATA) The levels and depths are as follows:
- Level— I 100’ (30m)
- Level— II 130’ (40m)
- Level— III 150’ (46m)
- Level— IV 180’ (55m)
- Level— V 200’ (61m)
- Level— VI 240’ (73m)
It is highly recommended that the Level III candidates also enroll in PSAI Advanced Nitrox Diver course to further expand their skills and knowledge.
It is highly recommended that the Level IV candidates also enroll in PSAI Extended Range Nitrox Diver course to further expand their skills and knowledge.
